Impatiens capensis is an annual pollinator plant that grows in and around streams, rivers, and floodplains. 

Showy orange flowers! Hummingbirds love this plant! Great for other native pollinators!

When ripe, the seed pods are "spring loaded" and eject the seeds long distances when disturbed. This makes for a fun spectacle and impressive when viewed in slow motion.

Cultivation Guidelines:
Light: Bright direct or indirect light.
Restricted Range: Will not survive soils that dry out. 
Growing Medium: Native soil, loam soils, variable.
